Theo Ramwell builds websites.
Helping ambitious sole traders build a stronger online presence with professional websites and ongoing content designed to support long-term business growth.
Built for where your business is going.
I work with all businesses, ranging from ambitious sole traders to established companies. What matters is that you’re serious about where your business is going.
Ambitious Sole Traders
You’re building something bigger than simply creating yourself a job, and you want your online presence to grow with the business.
Trades & Contractors
You care about your reputation, the quality of work you’re winning and building a professional business for the long term.
Consultants & Professionals
Your expertise is part of what you’re selling, so credibility, clarity and a strong first impression matter from the moment somebody finds you.
Established & Growing Businesses
The business has moved forward, but your website hasn’t. You need an online presence that finally reflects the quality of what you’ve built.
Different businesses. Different websites.
Every business needs something different. I design around the business, its customers and where it wants to go. Here are a few examples.
Willow Landscapes & Groundworks Ltd
A complete website with ongoing content, local SEO and Google Business Profile management, continually updated to showcase Willow’s services, completed projects and latest work.
Gaming Hero
A large content and membership website with ongoing content, SEO and website management, built to organise hundreds of gaming guides, videos and regularly updated resources into a clear, usable platform.
Simkin Associates
A professional website for an independent environmental consultancy, designed to give the business a credible online presence and clearly present its specialist services.
Discovering York
A characterful travel website redesigned around the personality of York, with a distinctive visual identity, improved mobile experience and much faster performance.
Your business deserves the same attention.
Tell me what you do, where you want to take the business and I’ll help work out what the website needs to do.
My Google Business Reviews.
Two ways to work with me.
Choose a complete website you can take forward yourself, or a Growth Site built for ongoing content and long-term growth.
Complete Business Website
A professional website designed around your business, your services and the customers you want to reach.
Growth Site
A website built to keep working for your business, with ongoing content and the tools to grow your online presence.
Not sure which is right for you? Tell me about your business and I’ll help you work it out.
Good design is only part of the job.
A website needs to look good, but what matters is what it does for the business behind it. These are real examples of the problems I’ve worked on, the decisions I made and the results that followed.
Discovering York
An independent travel website redesigned around the character of York, with a stronger visual identity, better mobile experience and dramatically improved performance.
Travel Website
An independent York travel website
Discovering York helps people explore the city through useful local content, recommendations and travel information.
The website wasn’t doing the brand justice
The content was there, but the design, mobile experience and performance no longer reflected the personality or quality of the website.
Redesigned and rebuilt the experience
I refreshed the visual identity, improved the mobile experience and worked through the website to substantially improve its performance.
Make the website worthy of the content
The goal wasn’t simply to make it prettier. It needed to feel more credible, enjoyable to use and better able to showcase the content behind it.
“Absolutely amazing service! Love the new look to my site. Thank you so much”
What I look at
I only show results I can genuinely evidence. Good design matters, but the bigger goal is building an online presence that genuinely supports the business behind it.
Real Work · Real ResultsA few things you might be wondering.
You don’t need to know anything about websites before getting in touch. These are some of the questions business owners often have when we first start talking.
Not at all. You know your business and I know websites. Tell me what your business does, who your customers are and where you want it to go, and I’ll help work out what your website actually needs.
You don’t need to arrive with a technical brief or know what pages, plugins or features you need. Understanding that side of things is my job.
A Complete Business Website is for businesses that want me to design and build their website properly, then take it forward themselves.
I’ll first understand your business, your services, your customers and what you need the website to achieve. From there, I’ll design and build the website around your business rather than trying to squeeze you into a generic template.
Most business websites I build are around 10 pages, but every business is different. I’ll discuss what you actually need before providing a quote. See what’s included on the Websites page.
A Growth Site is what it says on the tin. It’s your website, but I’ll grow it.
Rather than building your website and leaving you to it, I continue working on it over time, improving and optimising its SEO, adding useful blog posts and case studies that give potential customers more ways to find your business online, and creating new pages as your business develops.
I also work on your Google Business Profile, keeping it active with regular posts, photos, updates and accurate business information, so your wider digital presence continues developing too.
As your business grows, your website and Google presence grow with it. You keep running the business, while I keep building the digital side of it. Explore the Growth Site.
A Google Business Profile is the business listing that can appear when people find you through Google Search and Google Maps. It can show your services, photos, reviews, contact information and business details.
For many local businesses, it’s an important part of being found online. If you’re on my Growth Site package, I can also work on your Google Business Profile alongside your website and keep it active with regular updates.
A business blog doesn’t mean sitting down every week and writing a diary. It’s simply a place on your website for useful content about your business, services and expertise.
Case studies are real examples of work you’ve completed. They can show what the customer needed, what you did and the finished result.
If you’ve already got photos of completed jobs sitting on your phone, those can often become genuinely useful case studies instead of disappearing into your camera roll.
Useful content gives your website more relevant information and more opportunities for potential customers to discover your business when they’re searching online.
It also gives someone researching your business more evidence of your experience, your work and what you know. The goal isn’t to publish content just for the sake of it. It’s to turn the work and knowledge already inside your business into genuinely useful pages.
Yes. If your existing website feels dated, doesn’t represent the business anymore or simply isn’t working as well as you’d like, I can take a look at what you already have.
Sometimes it makes sense to improve what’s there. Other times a more substantial redesign or rebuild is the better option. I’ll explain what I’d recommend and why before we start.
Mostly, I need to understand your business. We’ll talk about what you do, the services you provide, the customers you want to reach and what you’d like the website to achieve.
I’ll also need things like your business information, contact details and any photos or existing material you want to use. Don’t worry about organising everything into a perfect website brief. I’ll help you work through what we need.
No. I’m based around Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire, and I’m always happy to meet local business owners for a coffee, but I work with businesses throughout the UK.
If you’re further away, we can handle everything by phone or video call instead.

Landscaping & groundworks
Willow Landscapes provides professional landscaping and groundworks services, with completed projects that give potential customers a clear picture of the quality of their work.
Make the real work visible online
The business needed a professional online presence that could clearly explain its services while giving completed work and real projects much more prominence.
Built around services & projects
I built the website around what potential customers actually need to see: the services Willow provides, examples of completed work and clear ways to get in touch.
Turn good work into proof
Great work already gives a business something valuable to market. The website gives that work somewhere permanent to live, helping new customers see what Willow can actually do.
A stronger online foundation.
No technical brief required.
You don’t need to know what pages you need, how websites work or what any of the technical stuff means. Tell me about your business, your customers and where you want it to go. I’ll handle the website side.
Let’s Talk
Tell me about your business, your customers and where you want it to go. No technical knowledge needed.
I Build
I take what we’ve discussed and turn it into the first version of your website, built around the business and what it needs to achieve.
You Review
You see everything before it goes live. Tell me what you like, what you don’t and anything you’d like changed.
We Launch
Once you’re happy, I finish everything, handle the technical side and get your new website live and ready for your customers.
Working across the UK
Hey, I’m Theo.
I’m a website designer who’s spent years building, running and growing online projects of my own before I ever started building websites for other businesses.
That experience taught me that a website isn’t just a collection of nicely designed pages. It has to make sense for the business behind it, the people it’s trying to reach and where that business wants to go.
That’s why I like to understand the business first. You’ll work directly with me throughout the project, from our first conversation to getting the finished website live. No account managers, no passing you between departments and no handing your project to somebody you’ve never spoken to.
Away from the desk, I’m usually with my family, playing far too much World of Warcraft or painting tiny Warhammer soldiers. Serious about the work, considerably less serious about everything else.
