Why Bloggers Hate Elementor – Time to Try Popcorn Theme

I will be perfectly honest with my words in this blog, I am a blogger and I’ve had enough of Elementor. Elementor is an excellent plugin page builder, but it’s too complicated, too slow and is not user friendly to beginners. If you’re a profession developer with years of experience developing websites for clients then maybe you actually like Elementor. If you’re anyone else, you frankly will find Elementor is a pain to use!

Boggers I have a question for you: what is our job? Think about it seriously. I think of our job as a blogger: We provide value to readers online and we make money by getting words onto the internet to provide that value. We however don’t get money wasting days building a site using Elementor. I am here to tell you it’s time to take back control of your website. I know from experience helping several elementor website owners you can build a site of equal or better style in 20 minutes using Popcorn. In fact every website owner I have worked with has been so shocked at how easy it was!

Why is Elementor so difficult to use?

Elementor is a hyper diverse page builder plugin. This means that it’s got so many bells and whistles that completing basic tasks is strenuous because you have so many bells and whistles in the way!

From direct experience of using elementor for 3 years I know that the customisation of the plugin is so diverse, you can really dial in on the exact style of your brand and customise every detail of your site. What this effectively means is you spend an inordinate amount of time customising your site instead of making money doing what you need to!

My issue with the Elementor plugin is that users have to be expert web developers just to understand how to make basic changes to website.

Drawbacks

  • Difficult: Elementor plugin is so diverse that it’s too complicated to use.
  • Slow: Elementor has bloated code which slows your website down.
  • Expensive: Elementor is expensive as it’s a per site subscriptions!
  • User-friendly: Elementor is not user friendly.
  • Control: You have less control due to the difficulty of editing your sites.

A client I have worked with had a website and they couldn’t make changes to their website. They became so upset with how complicated the Elementor plugin is that they would pay a “website developer” $50 every time they needed to make a change to their website. That same client moved their website across to the the Popcorn theme with my guidance in under 30 minutes. It was shocking to them to see how user friendly and simple Popcorn is, yet it provided the same features they needed as they had on Elementor. The only difference is they could understand how it worked now and make any changes for themselves.

Why change to Popcorn from Elementor?

Whether you change to Popcorn or stay with Elementor honestly has no impact on my life. I love helping people be more in control of their websites. I’ve helped many people make this change in the past so I know the satisfaction that change can have on your site.

Benefits

  • Beginner Friendly: Anyone at any skill level can customise their website.
  • Templates: Pre-built templates save you hours of building your site.
  • Global Styles: Styles are global across your site: One change for the entire site.
  • Core Web Vitals: Popcorn has unique coding meaning speed and efficiency!
  • Price: Pay once: Use on as many sites for however long you want!

Popcorn comes with pre-built templates which you customise with the “Site Builder” feature of WordPress. This means that you don’t have to build templates, you simply edit the current templates with any changes you want. Additionally the Popcorn theme has global styles. Global styles change your styles to be site wide, when you select your site colors they will update on every page of the website. When you edit a post template, the site will automatically change every post on the site to be the exact style you want it to be.

Time is the biggest selling point of Popcorn Theme. You save time building and customising your site. Once you’ve installed Popcorn as the website theme, you will notice your website’s core web vitals to be green (healthy). It will have the automatic optimisation to be fast which means google will think your website is providing a better user experience meaning you have better chance of ranking higher for blog posts.

One time purchase is a major advantage over Elementor. Why pay yearly such expensive prices for a plugin page builder theme you can’t even use properly? With Popcorn there are various payment options but the life time option is by far the best. Pay once, use the theme on as many sites as you like for as long as you like.
